These images are from the greater Ho Chi Minh City area as well as near my guesthouse again. A large number of the photos taken were from the back pillion of a motorbike with my non-english speaking guide. I tapped his shoulder and pointed to communicate. He also knew the words stop and hello, helpful in these situations. No seriously, considering that, he did a fantastic job and was very patient with my demands.
The ride took in The Expat District, as well as a new development area and some of the poorer suburbs too. There is a fair amount of contrast as is to be expected.
The view from the front gate of my guesthouse on Ho Van Hue, which is pronounded something like "Ho! Van Hw-e! (with the e super short)".
Stone carving seems to be big business. I saw 6 or so carvers heading south from the ex-pat area and apart from lions, religious symbols were very popular.

An example of living in the wealthier areas, my driver Dinh in view.
Children on the Ferry, crossing back into Ho Chi Minh City proper.
Another ferry, the one I was on looked much the same.
A view out from the ferry when we were about to alight.
